Known as jiu cai in Chinese medicine, the seeds are used to tonify Yang deficiency, warm and strengthen the Kidney and Liver energies, promotes circulation of Qi and blood, and dispels stagnation.
The medicinal actions of garlic chives are similar to other members of the onion family – they warm and stimulate blood flow, help to prevent clotting, and are mildly antimicrobial.
