Its roots contain chemicals that are anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating, making it useful in a wide spectrum of inflammatory and infectious diseases.
Baikal skullcap is also beautiful, with purple spike flowers up to 3' tall. Prefers full sun and well-drained average soil.
