Baikal skullcap is one of the most frequently used herbs in the Chinese pharmacopeia.  Its roots contain chemicals that are anti-inflammatory and immune-modulating, making it useful in  a wide spectrum of inflammatory and infectious diseases.  Baikal skullcap is also beautiful, with purple spike flowers up to 3′ tall.  Prefers full sun and well-drained average soil.
