Holy Basil (Tulsi)

Holy basil (Ocimum sanctum), also known as Tulsi, is a plant medicine from southeast Asia with many uses.  It is both a tonic and aids treatment of numerous infections and illnesses.

Holy basil is an adaptogen and in particular supports cognitive function and mood.  It helps balance out both anxiety and depression and relieves stress.  Holy basil also aids stress-related gut disorders such as stomach ulcers and GERD.

This plant has been used traditionally for the treatment of malaria, babesia, chikungunya (a mosquito borne tropical virus), and fungal infections such as ringworm and SIFO.
